Our junior-varsity show choir, Celebration, definitely celebrated good times during their 2019 competition season. With a show composed of songs “Souled Out,” “Start Tomorrow Tonight”, “Once Upon A Time”, “Fake Your Way To the Top” and “Never Close Our Eyes”, the team’s hard work paid off with an undefeated season.

On top of winning first place at the Viterbo, a show choir competition held in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, plus the Linn-Mar, Prairie and Marion competitions, they also racked up numerous other awards, such as Best Band, Best Choreography, Best Vocals, and even Best Male and Female Soloist awards to Ian Wolverton- Weiss ‘21 and Sofia Burke ‘21.

Participants also appreciate the little but irreplaceable moments.

“My favorite part about show choir is putting it all together, then , as a group, seeing how it turns out.” Chloe Malone,‘21.

Participants also hold a great deal of pride when it comes to Celebration , including Diamond Roundtree, ‘20.

“It was a great feeling to know we were on a Varsity level,” Roundtree said.

Adam Hein,’21, agrees.

“I think Celebration probably had its best season, like, I’ve been alive for,” Hein said.

Celebration is also excited for the future as well.

“I’ve seen their show for next year and I have every reason to believe they’re going to be equally as strong, so we’re very excited,” Director Peter Westphalen.
